Alfhild “Alfie” Külper creates textile landscapes that transform spaces into sanctuaries of comfort and healing. Shaped by an Anthroposophic education that emphasized childlike wonder, she works from her Amsterdam studio transforming salvaged wool into what she lovingly calls her “fuzzy friends.”
Through traditional tufting and 3D embroidery, Alfie creates immersive environments that suggest moss-covered forest floors one moment, vast cosmic nebulae the next. Drawing from textile traditions spanning India, Nepal, and the Netherlands, her work creates spaces where comfort becomes tangible.

Ocean depths rest in meditation, nearly a meter of pure possibility. Each knot carries whispers of hope transformed, blue holding the weight of dreams where wood remembers its ancient roots in forest soil.
Traditional hand-knotting techniques transform reclaimed wool into generous comfort grounded by a solid wood base. The deep blue hues change with natural light throughout the day, creating a sanctuary for gathering and rest in our rushing world.
